The drawing piece was another assignment. We first had to pick objects that worked well together and then draw them. The next thing we did was draw them. Instead of adding value and form with a graphite pencil however, we had to do it with color. We had to make the object look as real as possible. We used different colors to give the objects depth and form. For every object I used different colors. For the apple I used a variation of yellow, orange, reds, brown and some pink. I also added a little white to mix in the colors a little more and to make some spots on the object lighter than others. I had a hard time doing the magnifying glass because I didn’t know how to give the object the form it was suppose to take. I didn’t know how to give the lines direction. In the end I still don’t think it looks that well. The other hard object was the glass flask that holds the feather. In a way I should have made it look more transparent and a little more 3D. To me it looks very solid. It doesn’t look see through. The color doesn’t match with it, it also looks a flat. It didn’t get enough form. It was difficult getting the color right because of the crayola pencils we used. They didn’t mix well and after a few layers of color you couldn’t mix it anymore.

The Cast shadow drawing was an assignment for my art 2 drawing class. We had to pick a number of items from out bag packs or anything that belongs to us. Our assignment was to make it look realistic. I tried to draw the objects a little bigger than the real size they were. Then we had to draw the shadow and give it value and form. I drew in the objects first and tried to not draw the pencil lines too dark. After I drew in all the objects I began to draw the shadows on all the objects. I tried to give the objects form with the direction of my lines. The value in the drawings also make the drawing look more real. Some objects in the drawing could have used more value and form to make them look more 3D.

My name is Sarahi, but eveyone calls me Sarah. I like all kinds of art. I don’t think i have a favorite type of art. I like all kinds of things. I enjoy going to museums and looking at art. I like 2D and 3D objects. However, I do enjoy looking at work that has color in it. I like seeing diffrent shades of color and the colors that can be created when you mix colors. I usually draw things that come to my mind nothing in particular really. By the time that we finish this class i want to learn how to draw realism including people and places. I also want to learn how to shade and do things with color.
